“I don’t know how my first composition notebook ended up in my hands. Long before I could really write, someone must have known that this was all I needed.” – Jacqueline Woodson
Clarity Kickstart:
Has someone ever pointed out a quality or strength in you that you never noticed yourself?
If you’ve been fortunate enough to experience this, you probably still remember the moment. It may have even changed – or at least affirmed – your life trajectory in some way.
And what a gift to realize we can positively impact someone else’s life in this way, too!
This week, when you notice something wonderful, say so.
Let your coworker know how their method of instruction really helped you learn the information.
Tell the speaker that the way she presented helped you see from an entirely new perspective.
Or like author Jacqueline Woodson’s line above indicates, recognize the specific potential in someone and hand them tools to explore it further, such as giving a budding writer a fresh new notebook.
Instead of just thinking of compliments or words of praise, let’s say them out loud this week. We could make someone’s day – and perhaps far more.
