Letting Go In Order To Grow

Like a garden needs pruning in order to flourish, sometimes we need to conduct a bit of life / schedule / commitment pruning ourselves.

“I left the woods for as good a reason as I went there. Perhaps it seemed to me I had several more lives to live, and could not spare any more time for that one.” – Henry David Thoreau

Clarity Kickstart:

Although I’ve enjoyed many quotes from it for years, I finally read the full text of Henry David Thoreau’s Walden earlier this spring.

(Did you know I share all the books I read each month in the Reading And Purpose newsletter? You can subscribe for free here.)

I appreciated learning what brought him into the woods and what he learned while there. But what surprised me – the part of his story I hadn’t heard before – was what prompted him to leave that serene and fulfilling setting.

Sometimes, whether or not we feel fully ready, we realize we need to let something go.

Like a garden requires pruning in order to flourish, we need to conduct some pruning in our own lives as well.

This week, take stock of what’s holding you back from achieving your most meaningful goal, and let it go.

Maybe it’s a limited belief or outdated story you’re telling yourself.

Maybe it’s procrastinating due to fear of getting it wrong or not succeeding.

It could also be an unhelpful habit, a commitment that no longer serves, or feeling like you have to go it alone.

Or, like Thoreau, maybe the time has come for a change, and we need to be brave and bold enough to make it.

Discern what’s keeping you from flourishing. Let it go so you can grow.

You don’t have to go it alone. Coaching can help you grow, flourish, and reach your full potential! Contact me to schedule your initial consultation to learn more.
