Coaching Tip for the Week:
I agree 100% with the above quote. Make that 200%.
So much can stand in our way of putting our true selves out there: fear, doubt, fragile self-esteem, uncertainty. We have lots of reasons to hide.
But we have more reasons to honor our full potential, to work with purpose, to live like we mean it.
Not too long ago, I was “hiding out” in a few significant ways, putting up a shield of protection. My summer 42 Days Of Yes activity began to knock down some of the walls I had built up, and putting this quest in “project status” helped me move from “I should do something about this” to “I am doing something – and here’s the time frame.”
(Hint: If the word “should” appears in your goals at all, it’s time to revisit!)
What I’ve learned: Your family, your work, your world wants you to be you. Honestly, authentically, vulnerably YOU. When you try to cover up, sugarcoat, hide out, or imitate someone else, we all suffer.
We want to experience your greatness.
In fact, we need to.
This week, live like you mean it. Be honest with yourself about what prevents you from doing so. Concern over what others will think? Fear of failure? Wondering how you will compare? Put your self-awareness and self-care in project status this week, then when you’re at work, at home, and in every interaction, BE YOU.
