Your First Thought Of The Day

Christi Hegstad January 4th, 2016

“Wake up every morning with the expectation of having a great day.”

Andy Baggott
Coaching Tip for the Week:

What are your first thoughts upon waking?

I love this simple line from Baggott because it reminds me of an essential truth: We choose who and how we want to be in the world.

We can choose to wake up in the morning complaining of a poor night’s sleep, worried about the day ahead, frustrated that we’re not where we thought we’d be right now.

Or we can choose to wake up and think, “Fresh start. New day. No matter what, I am going to make it count!”

Which do you think will bring you more joy, meaning, and success?

(And which do you think will make you much more fun to be around?)

This week, wake up in expectationDecide right now that today, and every day this week, is going to be imbued with inspiring moments, meaningful conversations, thoughtful ideas. Choose to embrace the activity, breathe in the silence, and savor the moments.

We don’t always choose what happens in life, but we always choose how we will respond. This week, choose greatness!
