CLARITY KICKSTART: July 8, 2013
“You can tell so much about a person by the kind of books they read.”
~ Sara Nelson
Coaching Tip For The Week:
Surely you’ve heard the phrase, “Readers are leaders.” But between work and family and volunteering and friends and home care, how much time do you get to read?
Whether it’s hours each week or minutes, pay attention to what you choose as your material. If it’s doom and gloom, that’s what seeps into your subconscious and, ultimately, informs your decisions and infuses your attitude.
Be selective in your reading material. Some suggestions: uplifting articles of success, autobiographies of people you admire, devotionals or spiritual texts, informative pieces that emphasize solutions over complaining, blogs that offer suggestions for enhancing your work and life.
This week, be a reader. Choose a book or magazine that’s been calling you for ages, set aside time in your calendar, pour a cool drink, and enjoy! Before you close the book, consider how you might apply what you just read into your own work or life. Leaders are readers!
