“What looks like resistance is often a lack of clarity.”
~ Chip & Dan Heath
This tension, also known as cognitive dissonance, can really play a number on our self-confidence, too. In many cases, however, it’s not a character flaw; we’re simply not crystal clear about what we’re supposed to do, which causes us to procrastinate. This week, take one of your to-do’s that has been lingering for a while. Fine-tune it so you know exactly what you need to do, down to the penny, ounce, time, or whatever measurement makes sense. Also briefly answer the question, “What’s my reason for doing this?” to connect the action to your larger purpose. Chances are your lingering to-do will have a check mark by it sooner rather than later!
